Design and construction of a memorial
When the UVT GROUP team began design work to restore the damaged Bahirova Street and Hostomelske Highway in the city of Irpin, we felt a calling to create a memorial that would symbolize the resilience of people who withstood the enemy’s onslaught.
This is how the idea was born — a multilayered metal shield representing those who became a human wall of resistance.
The cities, towns, and villages around Borodianka, Irpin, Hostomel, and other nearby settlements shocked the entire world after the liberation from the Russian occupiers.
We must remember this, our children must remember this — yet we must also live in cities built for a happy and peaceful future.
The realization of the memorial became possible thanks to the support of Yaroslav Yanovych, Chief Architect of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, and with the assistance of the Irpin City Council.
The concept of the memorial belongs to Oleksii Agafonov, Chief Architect of UVT GROUP.
